The chico pet shop adventure began nearly 40 years ago, when Pierre Charbonneau and Michel Joly opened the first Chico pet shop on Ontario Street in Montreal.
In 2002, a second boutique was opened in Verdun, it was then necessary to wait until 2008 to see the brand really take off, in a few years, Chico became one of the largest chain in the industry in Quebec with more than 80 franchises.
In 2022, Chico enthusiastically joined the Pet Valu family, which is developing a multi-banner business concept that offers Chico and its head office all the latitude and operational support necessary to ensure the development of the brand in Quebec.
The experience gained over the years allows us today to offer a business model of neighborhood pet shops, welcoming animal experts able to offer a consulting service adapted to the needs of the different animals of the clientele.
