“For the past few years, my businesses have been doing very well in the United States, but my son Mickaël wanted to come back to Quebec. When we returned, he proposed the idea of opening a Chico! Very quickly, we were attracted by the company’s values. Michel Légaré, co-franchisee of the Chico Pet Store on Montée Masson in Mascouche.
More than a store
Like its franchisees, the store is impressive with its large glass tower, its abundance of choices, the quality of its products and its more than affordable prices. The Légaré’s word is that customers will find what they are looking for. They have also already established very good links with the SPCA to help the different shelters in the region. In addition, they offer internships to interested students.
Like a fish in water
For Michel, customer service is second nature. His son Mickaël has also inherited his interpersonal skills, as he has been involved in his father’s business for years. They are always ready to listen to the different requests of the customers and they regularly organize contests.
A bit of history
The first Chico store was founded over 35 years ago in the Hochelaga neighbourhood. Today, the company has over 70 franchises in Quebec.
The Chico network experienced spectacular growth in 2008. Since then, many entrepreneurs with a passion for animals have chosen to join the Chico family by becoming franchisees. Boutiques d’animaux Chico is now the largest chain of neighbourhood pet stores in Quebec.
